A Break in the Weather
After a long, wet spring and early summer, we've finally started into a nice summer warm spell. Then after a week of sunny, cloudless skies, the weather changed. Clouds rolled in and the air became muggy.
At sunset, a brief shower began with large drops pelting down on the lake. You could see the storm "walking" across the surface on its way to our front porch.
But the amount of rainfall wasn't even enough to register on our rain gauge. Nor did it have any affect on the soil in my garden. I had to take care of that with a good watering with the hose. -- Margy
SO many skies pictures to see in this site, but it is always interesting to see each one coz they differ from each other. Awesome!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit today! We have had hot days and thundershowers overnight for the last week and then some. We've even had storm chasers here in the hopes of finding a tornado. Luckily, our area hasn't had any tornadoes but areas south of us have.
ReplyDeleteI love this last shot on your posting. Hope you receive some moisture soon!
beautiful shots of my favorite - storm clouds
ReplyDeleteVery nice Margy! Dramtic skies.
ReplyDeleteSo much drama above the trees. Nice captures. Thanks for visiting QDP. Quincy's track has also been wrought with lots of controversy . . . it's been years in the making.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, but I really have had enough of rain clouds since it is all we have seen for months! X
ReplyDeleteMajestic skies and lovely tree silhouettes. Great series of photos. It's been hot and dry in SoCal.
ReplyDeleteEven if they don't bring enough rain to do any good, I find it exciting to watch storms like this one roll. What a beautiful sky you've captured - the silhouettes of the trees really add some wonderful depth and texture, especially to that second photo (my favorite of the two!)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful skies. Love the colours.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sky shots.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for stopping by for my Skywatch Friday post. We are back to sunny skies, but not quite as hot. Last night was clear for the meteor shower. A great show! - Margy
