Is it time to leave yet?
Wednesday we're all packing into Betha (Mom's big white Buick) and heading for Powell River for a month of fun and hopefully some Indian Summer sun.
This picture makes Mom's cat look like he's a good traveler. Stick Tail has improved over time, but it's hard to overcome getting car sick. But once he's through purging, he settles down in the back seat for the rest of the trip. I learned a lot about traveling with cats over the years. Click here to see some handy tips. -- Margy
Enjoy your trip!
ReplyDeleteMy aunt & uncle just did a cross-country & back monthlong trip with their cat. I remember when Max needed to be medicated to take him to the vets. Now he's quite comfortable riding along (especially if if means his humans don't leave him with a sitter).
Do you have him in a carrier? I wouldn't fancy the clearing up, poor thing x
ReplyDeleteCheryl and Fran - Stick Tail gets car sick, so we always go prepared with wet and dry towels, and lots of baggies. But once he settles his tummy, he sleeps most of the way. In the beginning we used a carrier in the car, but now he travels much better outside where he can see out and get some scritches. While traveling, he never pees, poops, eats or drinks. But once we arrive at our destination he does all four almost immediately. - Margy
ReplyDeletetoo cute... look at those eyes! =)
ReplyDeletebe careful, safe and God bless! =)
What a sweetie, and glad his travelability is improving. My old cat Hermie never did learn to travel, but Ava (the killer cat from hell) loved to travel. I could take her anywhere, as long as she didn't have to deal with people.
ReplyDeleteTraveling with Lindy this week was fun, if somewhat labor-intensive. I found a dog-friendly hotel and she loved it, lots of people to make a fuss over her, even a couple of toddlers, which she loves.
Hope you all have a super time at the cabin, especially your mom and Stick Tail.

Sounds like a great time off. I'd love it, but can't leave the farm for more than a day or so. Goes with the gig, I'm afraid.
ReplyDeleteHave fun and take lots of photos. :)
That's so gross. Poor baby.
ReplyDeleteMy cats have always been good travelers.
My boys are just recovering from neutering. We're supposed to keep them in a week. Ain't gonna happen. Already went out.
Lovely critter shot!
ReplyDeleteMy Camera Critters post, have a lovely weekend!
Lovely photo.
ReplyDeleteGood luck and have beautiful trip
Awww...cute. My cat does that - or jumps in the car sometimes - before we go to the store. even though she doesn't like going in the car, when we actually have to bring her.
ReplyDeleteI'll check out your tips - thanks for sharing.
I love how kitties know when the suitcases come out it's time to crawl in one so as not to be left behind.
