Coming Home

I flew 3,992 nautical in an airliner, traveled 364 miles on a ferry, and drove 4,096 kilometres only to come home to Powell River BC to the most beautiful sunsets of all.

There's no place like home.

It's so good to be home, well almost! -- Margy

  1. No doubt about it, they are lovely sunsets. The first so serene, and the second bathed in gold. Worth coming home to!

  2. I thought you were going to explain how the last 90 miles to P.R. took longer than the 3,992 miles on the airliner.

With many others, I attended a reunion of the 1964 Max Cameron grad class. Between extra loads and a broken carnival truck, the drive back to the city was about 10 hours.

Then again, if the city was more convenient, Powell River wouldn't keep its character. It would be overrun.

  4. These are indeed absolutely gorgeous sunsets! I just looked through your camping trip posts and found them fascinating, what a great way to discover Quebec and the Maritimes! I hope you come back to visit Montreal at length again some day soon!

  5. No place like home indeed. When I step off the ferry onto Gabriola I usually want to kiss the ground. Nice pics.

    Cheers from Gabriola.

  6. If I lived where you do I would be always coming home. However, where I live I'm constantly trying to find ways to get back to the auld sod.

    Lovely shots. Thanks!

  12. Love those BC ferries! Your area is a bit similar to my favorite destination: Fidalgo Island. What a treat that sky gave you that night! Thanks for visiting my SWF...
