Quadra Island Boat Tour

Quadra Island is one of the Discovery Islands between Vancouver Island and the mainland of Coastal British Columbia. It was named after Don Juan Francisco de la Bodega y Quadra, an 18th Century Spanish Naval Officer who explored the area at the same time as Captain George Vancouver. About 4,000 people live on the island, but in summer that number swells as tourists arrive by floatplane, boat and ferry. Quadra is a frequent destination for our 24' Bayliner Halcyon Days. The following are a few shots to entice you to come for a visit some day.

The ferry from Quadra to nearby Cortes Island.

Narrow passages.

And quiet coves.

Thanks for looking at my Quadra Island pictures. If you would like to read more about our trip you can click here. -- Margy

Would that I could - visit, that is.
I was stung by the bug to see British Columbia after reading Dyson jnr's book 'Starship and Canoe'.
A lovely selection and apt choice.

These photographs look lovely, but then again what you can expect from Canada :)
Someday I will hopefully get opportunity to visit Canada. I would love to start from east coast and travel to the west coast, but if I could only pick one spot, I would probably visit Vancouver.
That city is always on top 3, when UN or someother organization makes studies about best places to live on earth.

    Great Q.

Martha and I spent several weeks in B.C. in the summer of 2006 while on out driving trip from Texas to Alaska.

I will be doing a post about B.C. in a few months. I do a post about this trip every Sunday called "Alaska Sunday".

We enjoyed B.C. a lot. Hope to get back some day and spend even more time.

Thanks for the nice comment on my Q.
