Off the Grid Living Up the Lake

Today we're heading up the lake for a few days at our float cabin. It's a unique place to live. Want to read about how we handle off the grid living? Wayne has written two books about our cabin life.

The first is Up the Lake. It tells about how we discovered our cabin on Powell Lake, about life in our off the grid, boating to world famous Desolation Sound, riding our quads into the back country, and flying overhead for a unique view of this incredible place.

  1. Isn't Desolation Sound just the most gorgeous place? I haven't been there for years, and have travelled a lot, but I still remember its beauty and its majesty.

An Unfittie’s Guide to Adventurous Travel

  2. I checked out the first "Up the Lake" just now on Amazon, and got stuck reading it in the store. So I bought the Kindle edition.

I don't know why I hadn't done this before; the book is wonderful! I'll be adding the others as I come to the end of this one.

  3. Kay - Desolation Sound is one of the most beautiful places for boating. And I even like it more when it is a bit more "desolate" in June or September when all the tourists aren't there.

Susannah - Glad you are enjoying "Up the Lake." You do not have to read the books in any order. Each one stands alone. After the first, Wayne used a more thematic approach. With your love of the ocean, you might like "Up the Strait."
