Cruise to Cortes Island, BC - Homeward Bound

It's easier getting up in the morning when tied to a dock, at least for Wayne. No climbing around the cabin using the handrails and no anchor to haul aboard. We used the extra time and energy to make some "BBQ" coffee to have with our sweet rolls from the resort store.

Today's trip was going to be a short one so we decided to stop at nearby Mitlenatch Island. I've already written quite a bit about Mitlenatch in previous posts (April 17, July 15 and August 10) so I won't go into a lot of detail here. Suffice it to say, it is one of our favorite destinations for a day trip. Lots of nature, good hiking (walking) trails, solitude and a nice beach. Then it was back across the Strait of Georgia to Powell River. Three days and two nights gave us a nice cruise and a chance to be "the last tourists." -- Margy
