Here what sold me on the Bushnell Trophy Cam HD. It’s rugged and waterproof, picture quality is up to 8MP (I want to photograph birds), it accepts a 32GB SD card for 15,000 photos or 18 hours of video, and best of all, it has a USB connection to download photos straight into a computer.

We don’t get large game around the cabin, but in a test shot in low light I did discover a bear-like animal rooting around a laptop, and a woodrat-like critter rummaging through the refrigerator. I can hardly wait for my first “real” trophy photo. -- Margy

I would like a game camera too. My daughter has one on the ranch, rather they have several. I would like one by the fruit trees. I know the deer get the apples and new leaves but we have seen bear scat and I would like to see the bear too.

DeleteVery neat - I love critter cams! Do you have a lot of otters there? They are fun to watch, a little destructive but cute little buggers.
ReplyDeleteI rarely see otters, but one time three swam under the cabin and played around under there for about half an hour. I tried to get a picture, but they got quiet and swam out before I could get a good shot. - Margy
DeleteI haven't figured out where to put mine since I've moved. The neighbours have a dog, so most of my photos would be of her, unless I can install it in a tree. Something to work on as the weather improves.

ReplyDeleteWe tried a cheaper Browning model first and it wouldn't work so we sent it back. This one takes good quality pictures. Now all I need to do is find some critters. - Margy

DeleteGreat that you got your trail camera. You will really enjoy it and all it shares with you. I need to get ours back up. We take them down in the coldest winter weather because the batteries really go fast then.
