Upstairs is our sleeping loft. It's 225 sq.ft. under the roof with two twins made into a king bed. The front is open to the living room's cathedral ceiling.
The center ceiling is high then slopes down to short walls good for storage.
Come take a YouTube video tour to see for yourself.
Thanks for taking the tour today. If you have any questions, please ask. We enjoy sharing about our off-the-grid experiences. -- Margy
I enjoyed this tour of your cabin. The layout is nice and it is so cozy. Your wood burning stove is certainly the heart of your cabin. We have just started getting into star gazing - such a wonderful hobby to have!
Yes it is, when we aren't traveling like we do in our RV. Right now we've decided to stay in town during the pandemic just in case we need help in an emergency. - Margy
Margy its those little details that makes this a lot more homey and filled with loving character! That beautiful fireplace and that little Persian rug plus those bottle cap stools look super cute!!!
You see lots of detail. The Persian rug came with the cabin. When John built it, the purpose was as a rental. He furnished it with items from his family and thrift stores. We've kept much of the original items because they remind us why we wanted to live here in the first place. - Margy
I enjoyed the tour of your float cabin. What a clever and creative use of space! You optimized every nook and cranny! Your cozy cabin reminds me of the houseboats in Amsterdam.
Yes, it is a similar concept for living on the water. I love how the houseboats in Amsterdam and other parts of Europe are designed to travel through the canal systems. - Margy
If it fits in the back, it is fairly easy. The hard part is carrying things up and down the docks at the marina, especially if the lake is at a low water level. - Margy
Margy, I have enjoyed all of your tours. Will you do one of your unusual floating garden, Pleeeease!
