I finished the time up with a bit of surgery and recovery at our Bellingham condo in the States. Now we get to go home!
Has there been any wind or snow damage? What about the lake level? We'll soon know the answers to all of our questions.
Why do we love it so much? It's the best place on earth to live. Besides reading my blog, you can discover more about float cabin living at our YouTube Channel and in Wayne's Coastal BC Stories books. The first, Up the Lake, is available for free as an e-book at Amazon and most online booksellers. Chapter 2, "Boats and Planes," tells about how we discovered Powell River and found the home of our dreams floating on a lake.
Watch for lots of new stories after we get home! -- Margy

DeleteThank you! I have been wishing I could send you a series of questions just like you have listed above. Hope all goes well for your return 'up the lake' and hope too that you have time to blog to let the rest of us know how things are going for you. All the best!!
ReplyDeleteThanks faithful reader. With the satellite Internet at the cabin makes writing posts much easier. I'll get back on track once we get home. - Margy
DeleteWhat a fantastic float cabin - wishing you happy days there.
ReplyDeleteThanks. It is a great place to live. - Margy
DeleteHello, your float cabin is wonderful. It will be nice to be back on the lake again. Enjoy your day, have a happy week ahead.
ReplyDeleteIt sure will. We will have to wait until late June to go swimming though, the water from snow melt keeps it very cold this time of year. - Margy
DeleteHope you find favourable results when you return home
ReplyDeleteHappy mosaic Monday
Much🌻love
I can't wait. Less than a week to go now. - Margy
DeleteThe float cabin is indeed fantastic.
ReplyDeleteHappy MosaicMonday
It is pretty unique as a place to live. - Margy
DeleteMargy - there's nothing like going home after an extended absence! We look forward to experiencing your return with you. I have started looking back at last year's posts to remind myself what I can expect and when, now that it looks like Spring is on her way. For example, it was about this time that a black bear started emerging from hibernation in a sycamore tree in Glacier National Park. So much to look forward to! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday, my friend!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy looking back at my blog posts and photo file. There are some things that stay the same, and some that are a huge surprise. - Margy
DeleteWelcome home Margy! That first shot of your home and surroundings is breath-taking. I do understand why you love it, having been blessed with 3 months on Vancouver Island again - my "home from home" (only returned to Australia 2 weeks ago). It is indeed a piece of Heaven. Enjoy settling back and trust the operation/recuperation went well.
ReplyDeleteThat's great you got back to Vancouver Island again and for such a nice long stay. We hope to get over with our quads some time this summer to camp and ride. - Margy
DeleteYou certainly enjoy a variety of living locations. How very nice.
ReplyDeleteIt does keep our life exciting. I guess that's the best way to retire. - Margy
DeleteYou live in paradise.
ReplyDeleteWorth a Thousand Words
We think so too. - Margy
DeleteHope everything was well after your stay in Arizona and there was no winter damage to your home. Looking forward to spring in summer on the lake with you.
ReplyDeleteThose are the best times to enjoy the outdoors, but fall and winter are interesting as well. - Margy
DeleteLook forward to hearing how the river has survived without you.
ReplyDeletePowell Lake is enduring, it was formed when ice age glaciers retreated. The cabin is a bit more fragile, but in a pretty protected spot. - Margy
DeleteWhooo-hooo! Hope everything is well with you and that all that you want to be at the lake happened. :-)
ReplyDeleteTomorrow will tell. - Margy
DeleteIt is wonderful to have a little getaway in the middle of the winter, but so exciting to go back and experience springtime! You will have fun seeing all the answers to your many questions, and it will be fun to hear about it all! Blessings to you sweet friend :)
ReplyDeleteWe did enjoy our rental RV trip to Arizona. I'm sure there will be more winter trips south in the future. But yes, it is great to come home. - Margy
