Euclid Park near Lake Whatcom in Bellingham. |
Life has changed a lot. I order groceries and supplies online from Fred Meyer and pick them up in the parking lot already bagged. We stay away from crowds, but do go out once a day for a drive, to walk or visit an uncrowded park.
Well maintained and uncrowded trails through a wooded city park. |
While the Coronavirus pandemic is happening and we are staying in Bellingham, I will not be writing new posts for the Powell River Books Blog. There's lots of existing content to enjoy. Use the list in the sidebar to get caught up on your favourite topics.
We discovered a beautiful beach on Lake Whatcom at the end of a trail. |
I also invite you to join me at the Margy Meanders Blog. I will be sharing some of the places Wayne and I visit here in Bellingham while using social distancing and safe health practices.
Seeing signs of new spring growth was uplifting, especially right now, |
I highly recommending getting out in nature right now. Our minds and bodies need the soothing respite it offers. What other things have you been doing to help you cope at this difficult time? - Margy
Thank you for sharing your pictures of spring. It is barely a thought here after snow again but it is melting away now. Our biggest worry right now is my 91 year old mom in memory care. They are in lock down and we can't visit her. Dropped off a goody bag for her today with treats and snacks, a letter about how we are and some family pictures. Last night we took a drive to a neighboring town - it was eerie - so quiet and seemed empty. Glad to see that people are helping to flatten the curve! Be safe!
ReplyDeleteI must be a very hard time with your mom in a care facility. We are staying in Bellingham because there are more health care options here than in our Canadian small town home. You never know for sure, but so far it seems we made the right choice. I went out to get gas in the car today. The store parking lot was pretty full so I decided to stick with my plan to order online. - Margy
DeleteI am glad you posted an update, I was wondering about you two. Almost everything is shut down here now, so many new cases in BC each day (over 40 today) and many here on the island. Probably best you stay there. We are acting as if there is a lockdown already. Our delivery services are already overworked so for now I will go out for groceries 1 per every week to 10 days and that will be it. Nature is my savior, that and my dog and husband. Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteI hear Powell River is the same. Take care. - Margy
DeleteI couldn't agree more. Getting out in nature is about the best thing we could all do right now! Stay safe and healthy.
ReplyDeleteYou too. Joshua Tree has lots of open spaces for you. - Margy
DeleteLooks like you have a wonderful place to appreciate for a while!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your contribution to 'My Corner of the World' this week!

ReplyDeleteStay safe!
This is whole new territory for all of the world. - Margy
DeleteWe have been doing much of the same...I am enjoying getting out in the fresh air and will most likely take my dog out for a walk shortly...my boys have been spending a lot of time fishing with school out.
ReplyDeleteThat's good your kids can get out and do things safely. It is much harder for them to stay indoors for a long time. - Margy
DeleteLovely nature shots and glad you are getting out and practicing social distancing ~ ^_^

Since this post we've had to change to walking neighbourhood streets near our home. Hopefully soon we can go back to uncrowded parks. - Margy
DeleteI am glad to hear you are doing well Margy, and that you are in a place with good access to groceries and healthcare too. Things were fairly normal here, but since our state went on lockdown this week, now things are more like a ghost town. I pray for all of us. Stay safe sweet friend!
ReplyDeleteA ghost town here except on the street out front, one of the busiest in our town. - Margy
DeleteIt looks nice.
ReplyDeleteHi someone with a similar name. - Margy
Deleteseems like a good place to pend some time, Beautiful and not crowded :)
ReplyDeleteIt is good even if it isn't our regular home. - Margy
DeleteI agree that "staying home" is the best we can do right now for or health and others. Stay well and enjoy your beautiful surroundings
ReplyDeleteNow we are wearing masks when we encounter others. - Margy
DeleteMargy - another set of lovely photos. I especially like the second one! Happy April to you.
ReplyDeleteWe only went a little ways. Next time we'll got up the steep hill to see what is in that direction. - Margy
DeleteSuch gorgeous views. We've been in lockdown for two weeks now, I miss being outside, in the beautiful spring weather.
