Fall Sailing

What a difference a month can make. Skies can be just as blue in the fall (in between rain storms that is).
September Sailing

But the temperature and clothing sure change.

October Sailing

And on our way home we used the building southerly winds to fly our spinnaker. That's always fun!

I once heard this conversation at the Shinglemill dock:

Wayne - "A beautiful day isn't it?"
Sailboat Owner - "It will be once I get out on the water."

Now we know what he meant. -- Margy

  1. I don't think you'd want to chance it today though!

    1. We took the Hewescraft down the lake today and it wasn't too bad, at least until we tried to dock at the Shinglemill. - Margy

    1. The first two waves weren't too bad up at the cabin. We are fairly protected. We came to town to watch football on Saturday so we may get stuck here until the wind subsides. - Margy

  3. Lovely blue sky and water. Looks relaxing, even if a little chilly!

    1. When the sun is out it isn't too bad, but if it ducks behind a cloud, brrrr. - Margy

  4. I hope your bay is protected from our spectacularly crappy weather :) Stay safe and warm my friend.

    1. The wind at the cabin wasn't too bad because it was coming from the north, mostly skipping over the top. We'll be in town of Saturday for the worst of the three. Hope we don't lose power. We get spoiled being off the grid and generating our own. - Margy

    1. This time of year we pick sunny days, but often those don't match up to days with enough wind to sail. - Margy
