These rocks are found on Hardy Island in Coastal BC. They have such an unusual vertical nature.
An intrusive dike visible at the water's edge.
Because our region was scoured by glaciers during the ice age, many unusual rocks have been exposed. I love exploring and saving smaller rocks to display at our cabin home. -- Margy
Great rocks - I'm fascinated by the amount of rocks, boulders and stone cliffs in this area - from the west coast to Eastern WA - spectacular!!
ReplyDeleteAn interesting design!
ReplyDeleteYou have so many beautiful, natural features around you. We are very flat in comparison with our natural salt marshes. But we do get Maldon Sea Salt from them, have you heard of it xxx
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I saw the photo I thought "aha! glacier activity!"

Thanks for rocking out with me this week.
ReplyDeleteFran - We do have a lot more craggy mountains over here, but the pictures of your marshes and barge are beautiful as well.
Leslie - It must have been pretty exciting around here during the ice age. UBC had a team out here this week to test the trapped sea water at the bottom of Powell Lake.
