Then I used Dropbox to transmit the large files all the way from Powell River to Kirsten, who lived in Barcelona, Spain, at the time. Kirsten edited everything into the professional production you see above.
Because of her strong following, we have received over 1,700,000 views and over 1,700 comments in the last eight years.

DeleteVery cool. I had never heard of these before. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWe hadn't either before we found this one on vacation in 2001. - Margy
DeleteWhat fun! I feel as if I've actually had a visit there and have met you both! Loved it...
ReplyDeleteNarrated videos are even better than pictures. - Margy
DeleteGreat video! I loved the detailed explanation of the composting toilet. I've been wondering how those worked.
ReplyDeleteA lot better than climbing 4 flights of steps up an icy cliff in midwinter!
The compost toilet and Wayne's chainsaw are the most frequently segments for comments. - Margy
DeleteVery interesting video Margy. You guys gotter made.
ReplyDeleteI often wonder how you are doing with your place. - Margy

DeleteHello, The video is awesome. I love your floating cabin, the views are just stunning. What a fun time, it must be living there. Enjoy your day, have a happy new week!
ReplyDeleteIt is a lot of fun. Chores don't really seem like work. - Margy
DeleteYour float cabin off the grid home is amazing, you even have a float garden! I so enjoyed seeing where you live it looks like the perfect place for you and Wayne.
ReplyDeleteThe floating garden was the only way we could have fresh produce. We have no rights to use the shoreline, and it is a tall granite cliff that doesn't lend itself to growing crops. - Margy
DeleteThank you for this tour. It was most enjoyable! Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome. - Margy
DeleteI loved the video, so extremely interesting. My husband and I have often talked about doing exactly what you are but I'm not sure I could do it permanently, he could. But I'd love to give it a go.

We do travel in addition to our cabin life. We go to town at least once a week and out in our boat or riding on our quads. That keeps life interesting. - Margy
DeleteThat video is fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I did the raw footage but Kirsten put it all together wonderfully. - Margy
DeleteThanks Margy for this post. You know, following your story now for I don't know how long, I just love the way you keep developing and sharing.
ReplyDeleteThanks Phantomrijder. I guess part of it is the former teacher in me. - Margy
DeleteBravo Margy. Happy mosaic Monday.
ReplyDeleteI am #19 on the mosaic Monday linky today

I have fun with Monday Mosaics too. - Margy
DeleteI enjoyed watching the Youtube video about your float cabin house, Margy. You and your husband are excellent narrators and it was so interesting to see how you garden. The swimming bear was fun to see. They don;t try to come up on your decks I hope--I know bears are always on the hunt for food. After watching your video the next one is about homesteading in Brooklyn, NY--my old stomping grounds--so I'm going to watch that next.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Narration is hard for me even though I was a teacher by professions. - Margy
DeleteMargy - I have been telling my husband about your float cabin for a long time, and so the video was the perfect opportunity to SHOW him. Thank you. He admires it so much, and wants to know about the quality of the fishing! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday, my friend!
ReplyDeleteGlad the video gave you a more indepth look at the cabin. It has been fun working with production companies over the years to make videos and TV shows. - Margy
DeleteSo very wonderful. Thank you for sharing Wayne and Margy. :)
