We've probably all looked up over a crowded beach, parade or fair to see a small plane towing a banner.
What we don't expect is to see our name up there in the sky.
This banner photo is actually a few years old. In fact, back when Wayne retired, his students in the Mt. San Antonia College's Aeronautics Program set this up for his last graduation ceremony as professor and chairman of the department. So watch the skies, you may never know what you'll see. -- Margy

Good capture! I'm sure it is costly to fly words across the sky!
ReplyDeleteI am sure it is Naturegirl, but when you have students and former students who are in the flying industry things can happen for a little money. It was really special for them to do that. - Margy
ReplyDeleteWow, yes, it would be costly indeed for anyone else. What fun, though, Margy, and absolutely perfect for SkyWatch Friday!

That's cool!
ReplyDeleteNice homage! And a very great for Skywatch!
ReplyDeleteMust be an incredible feeling to see your name up in the sky!
ReplyDeleteGreat post :)
ReplyDeleteAmazing Skywatch shots!
Happy New year :D
Wayne had some great students. He must have been a great teacher, too! How nice.
ReplyDeleteThat is an amazing gift! Go Wayne.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for stopping by my SWF post. Yes, Wayne was an excellent teacher, but then of course I am a bit biased. We had lots of fun with the aviation students over the years, including the Mt. SAC Flying Team. They were a great bunch of "kids." - Margy
ReplyDeleteNice to see banner tow pictures. Since I'm Iceman's mom, I'm glad he doesn't do that anymore, but he enjoyed it. I still wear my Flying Team Jacket to airshow at Cable A/P. What year was jacket, 1982?? Good memories of camping at Ryan A/P with team.
