On Tuesday
I shared about my overnight trip to Steveston, BC. While I was there, I went to
Garry Point Park where the Fraser River enters the Strait of Georgia. It has a nice trail along the river and ocean's edge. In the middle is a large grassy area with an undulating surface. It surprised me, but here is what I saw.
I saw this man launch his large kite on the brisk breeze, when I looked back he was hurtling towards me. Looks like he was having lots of fun. -- Margy
That's a new one, I guess someone will try everything eventually! Does look like he was enjoying himself.
ReplyDeleteWow, that looks like fun. Is Wayne going to get John to help him build a Kite Buggy? LOL

That's a favourite place of ours to go and watch the boats go in and out, including the whale watching ones. I've seen kites there lots of times, but never this type of kite flying! It does look like fun.
ReplyDeleteIt's always windy at Garry Point, but that's the first time I've seen a buggy on a kite! What a good idea!
ReplyDeleteNice unusual perspective on skywatch. I haven't been to BC in a long time, planning a trip soon. Thanks for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteHi Margy, thanks so much for your visit! Hope you enjoy the game. I love your blog and am your newest follower.
ReplyDeleteStay safe on those mountain passes,
Kathy M.
Sure looks like fun! Hope you were surprised by clear skies for the game!
ReplyDeleteIt looks a bit dangerous to me!
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the guys on the snowboard behind the snowmobile. No control.
Who was that guy... Evil somebody?! Risk-takers scare me!!!!
Cheers from Cottage Country!
Thanks everyone for stopping by and commenting on my SWF video. And a special thanks go Kathy for choosing to follow my blog. And yes, Srasha, the skies cleared for our Oregon football game. - Margy
ReplyDeleteHi Margy, talk about a small world. I was in the park today taking a break from work when I saw this same guy. I was mesmorised watching him blast about the park as I walked around it. We both ended up at the parking lot at the same time, so I walked over to ask him about what he was doing. He actually directed me to your blog telling me someone had a video clip of him riding his kite buggy and ... surprise,it's you! So this park will hopefully be my backyard someday!( by the way , he comes out all the way from Maple Ridge to do this as this is the best spot in the lower mainland)
ReplyDeleteI am still waiting on city hall to give the ok to move there. It's a long slow process, with only one meeting a month, so everytime someone else has a question or a concern, it's another month before they get their answer. They are sending a house inspector tommorrow, so hopefully he likes what he sees.
I haven't done much in the way of renos over the winter. Until I know for sure I have somewhere safe to move it, I don't want to spend alot more money or energy on it. Also, it was too hard to do much with no heat or electricity to run tools.
I was wondering how you are liking your composting toilet. I would like to put one upstairs in my place. I need to get back to reading peoples blogs and writing in my own. With only sketchy generator power and my life being on hold, I haven't been online much these days. Thanks so much for staying in touch, let me know next time you are in our area, I would love to take you out for lunch, take care, Rhianna
Hi Rhianna - Got my fingers crossed for you. Last time I was at the park, it was pretty wet. I'm surprised it has dried out enough for the buggies. I like going to Steveston for an overnight stay. I'll try to get in touch the next time I'm headed that way. - Margy
