My only problem has been leaving them in the ground too long for the bugs to get them. They are fairly good keepers, about three months in a cool place wrapped in newspaper.

Marion - I know what you mean about the weird growing season this year. Some of my things have done fine, and other have been a real bust. But I hate to complain about the nice weather right now.

MargyPowell River Bookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17580698518291129041noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35356005.post-86717379015763761132010-08-21T08:32:45.443-07:002010-08-21T08:32:45.443-07:00I've been catching up on your prolific writing...I've been catching up on your prolific writing, Margy!! Your garden produce looks lovely...I hope to have my potato bed ready for next year.

My garden didn't do well this year...and that's quite an understatement! The odd weather has certainly had an impact...things bloomed out very early. Tomatoes are still very green and small and the harvest will be tiny, as compared to other years.

Oh well, there's always next year...Marionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00607220451457829777noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35356005.post-7857108276399093672010-08-19T05:32:32.549-07:002010-08-19T05:32:32.549-07:00Your potatoes look great. But I have not given up and you have inspired me to try buckets or boxes next year. The Scotch/Irish in me just adores those spuds.

Your garden looks great!Loriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05294056530885964319noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35356005.post-77824826374622133172010-08-18T14:16:46.365-07:002010-08-18T14:16:46.365-07:00Thanks everyone for the comments.

When it was done we just slit open the top and scooped it out. I was a Camp Fire Girl (back when it was only girls) so we learned lots of outdoors stuff even though we were city girls.

MargyPowell River Bookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17580698518291129041noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35356005.post-82473454751492627392010-08-18T10:39:37.225-07:002010-08-18T10:39:37.225-07:00Been making those since I was in the boyscouts and...Been making those since I was in the boyscouts and that has been a few years..
