Bear Hunters Catch a Big One

While Wayne and I were up at the cabin, we had unexpected neighbours. A Powell River based hunting guide was using the cabin next door as headquarter for a black bear hunt for some visiting Texans. Now that's a long way to come for a trophy.

Wayne and I forgot our sawhorse after going on a wood hunt (more our style), so we took the tin boat back to retrieve it. On the way back, our motor conked out. We floated in first narrows for a while Wayne did some troubleshooting,

The guide and one of the Texans came by on the way out for some trout fishing. We traded them some of our "secret spots" for a tow back to the cabin. I know they got a bear. But I bet we were their biggest aquatic catch of the day. Thanks for your help! -- Margy

  1. That's a long way to come just to kill something. Personally, I wish they'd stayed in Texas.

  2. I agree with Paul, dislike the idea of animals being killed.

  3. I know what you mean. It's not like they are needed for food. To me that makes a big difference. - Margy
