Serene Sunsets Abound

Every time we come to town we are amazed at the sunsets here in Powell River. We love our cabin, we miss sunsets up there.

Our bay is protected by hills and trees, blocking both the eastern and western sky. That's perfect for storm protection, but not so great for sky views.

But absence makes the heart grow fonder. And it sure is true of sunset skies. -- Margy

Oh, Margy, two beautiful shots. I love the mountains in the background (Vancouver Island?), the sailboats in the foreground, and is that a fishing boat going past or, wait, a small tug?
Alberta is big on sunsets, I must admit, but I miss the BC coast SO much.

Hi Lorie and Kay - Thanks for stopping by. Yes, that's Vancouver Island in the distance. I took the picture from our condo balcony. One of the benefits of coming to town. Many homes in Powell River have an ocean view because the town is built on a slope going uphill. And yes, that's a tug headed for the paper mill. We have lots of tugs pulling loads up and down the strait. I like to lie in bed and watch their lights at night. - Margy

Lovely pastel shares in this one; very soothing and peaceful, but somehow they suggest autumn's imminence.
