Foguary
January is fog time in Powell River. In between waves of rain coming off the Pacific, there are high pressure breaks that should bring us some much needed sunshine. But this time of year a forecast of "sunny" often mean "foggy."The fog can cling to the surface of Powell Lake for many hours. Some days it barely rises above the surface of the water and out of the tops of the trees.
On other days, the fog harbours ice. Fog depositing ice leaves frost encrusted trees in it's wake.
It's an amazing weather month, even if it is hard to get around sometimes. -- Margy

Fog makes for photos with an air of mystery. Nice!
November and April are the foggy months here. :)
I remember the fog on the Island. It would come down and cloak our town for days. It would be kind of irritating to me when I lived there, since I knew places without inversions were enjoying the Sun.
Now, since fog is rare here, I love it...especially the hoar frost which thickens with the freezing cold.
I don't really care for for even though it can look very beautiful. MB
I agree with Stine...you may have a lot of fog, but it certainly does enchance your scenes in a special way!
Magical mystical foguary. These are really splendid photos. I know how hard it is to shoot the foggy landscape so well - I have plenty of opps during May/June gloom and other summer afternoons on top of PV.
Beautiful scenery with a distinct Lord of the Rings aspect!
Oh Margy, love the frozen fog - that's awesome! Hope you do make it to Newfoundland again this year. I would like to as well but have no idea when. Try not to go mouldy in the rain!
Beautiful pics Margy! I love the fog and the mystery that it brings, it also seems to steal the sound also.
Smiles and Happy New Year
Thank you everyone for stopping by to see my Foguary post for SkyWatch Friday. The fog has been replaced by rain again, but that can be beautiful in it's own way. - Margy
