Icy Sculptures

It's almost spring, but someone forgot to tell Mother Nature. On Monday, we had about an inch of snow at our cabin on Powell Lake. When days are warm, snow melts, but cold nights freeze it into fanciful icy formations.

The cliff behind our cabin sometimes gets an icy beard.

Lakes in the high country still have their icy covers.

Thanks for viewing my (Mother Nature's) icy sculptures. -- Margy

  12. My ice pictues are more like yours than any of the other ice I have seen today. I hope to hike in the area of my icefalls again in May after the pass is reopened, and it will be interesting to see how the scene has changed.
